My Take
Yvonne's is a speakeasy-style cocktail bar in the old Locke-Ober space, and the atmosphere is genuinely impressive. Dark wood, intimate rooms, excellent cocktails. The food is fine — good enough to order something while you drink — but you're here for the vibe and the drinks, not dinner.
Why It Matters
Boston doesn't have many places that feel genuinely special when you walk in. Yvonne's does. It's the kind of place you take someone to impress them.
Best For
Pre-dinner drinks, impressing out-of-towners, special occasion cocktails
Watch Out For
Gets crowded and loud late. The food is secondary to the drinks.
