Yes, there's a line. Yes, it's worth it. Neptune is the rare Boston restaurant that lives up to the hype and has for years. The lobster roll (hot with butter, not the cold mayo version) is the benchmark. The raw bar is pristine. The space is tiny and loud — that's part of it.
Why It Matters
Boston has a lot of seafood restaurants coasting on location. Neptune actually earns it. Every time someone visits and asks 'where should we eat,' this is on the shortlist.
